- What was the most frustrating thing about work this week?
- What are you learning?
- What resources do you need from me to ensure your success?
- What else is top of mind for you?
Sometimes, it helps to change it up, so that the questions feel fresh each week. Here are some alternatives for the first two questions that will help you and your conversation partner stay on your toes.
For Question 1, What did you love at work this week?
- What brought you joy at work this week?
- What was life-giving at work this week?
- What made you think Wow! I am glad I was here to help with that!?
- Where did you find that your specific skill set fit a situation perfectly this week?
- When did you feel most in your element?
For Question 2, What was the most frustrating thing about work this week?
- What did you hate this week?
- What could have gone better this week?
- Where did you see room for improvement this week (in the team, processes, anything)?
- Where do you think YOU could have done better this week?
- What was monotonous and boring?
- What did you wish you didn’t have to do as part of your job?
- Where did you notice yourself procrastinating or putting off a task for later?
Alternatively, every once in a while, you can replace the whole agenda with a question like:
